What Guilty Party Is
Guilty Party: A Murder Mystery ("Guilty Party", "the Service") is a party game platform operated by Plot Twist Games ("we", "us"). The Service generates in-person murder mystery party games from information provided by a host and their invited players, and runs those games across the players' devices. By using the Service, you agree to these terms.
-
Accounts and Access
Hosts create an account to set up and run games. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping your credentials to yourself. Players join individual games with an invite code and do not need a standing account to play. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.
-
Purchases
Games are sold as one-time purchases at the prices listed on the pricing page at the time of purchase. All prices are in US dollars. A purchase unlocks the features described for the tier purchased; purchases are not subscriptions and do not renew. If a purchase does not work as described, contact us and we will make it right.
-
Acceptable Use
Use Guilty Party to play games with people who want to play them. You agree not to:
- harass, abuse, or target other players through survey answers, peer questions, or gameplay;
- reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the Service's source code or generation pipeline;
- use the Service to violate any law.
You are responsible for what you put in surveys and peer questions. Write about your friends the way you would want them writing about you.
-
Content You Provide
To build a game, you and your players provide survey answers, peer questions, and other context. You grant us a licence to process that content for the sole purpose of generating and running your game. We handle that data as described in the Privacy Policy, including deleting game context data when the party closes.
-
The Game Is Entertainment
Guilty Party generates fictional roles, motives, secrets, and accusations as part of a party game. Nothing the game produces is a real accusation or a statement of fact about any real person. The murder is invented, the guilt is assigned at random by the story, and no one actually did it.
-
Availability
Guilty Party is a live product under active development. Features may change, improve, or be temporarily unavailable while we work on the Service. We aim to keep games running smoothly and will not intentionally interrupt a game in progress.
-
Limits on Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is capped at the amount you paid us for the game the claim arises from. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
-
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify account holders. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
