Party night

File 03 / 12

Roles

Who knows what: murderer, accomplice, red herrings, and innocents.

How roles work

Before the party, everyone answers a short survey — jobs, quirks, dealbreakers. An AI turns those answers into a plot-hole-free mystery where every character is a heightened version of the real person holding the phone.

Then the roles go out as private dossiers. Nobody is holding the same information.

  • The Murderer Knows everything.
  • The Accomplice Knows who did it.
  • Red herrings · three of them Each knows one damning secret: their own.
  • The Innocents Know nothing. Suspect everyone.
Rule

Your role is for your eyes only. The host console is the only screen that sees the whole board.

What that means in play

  • The guilty team is trying to survive the accusation without getting caught clean.
  • Everyone else is trying to name the Culprit — and prove how and why if they can.
  • Red herrings look guilty on purpose. Don’t convict them. See Red herrings.
